Murchie’s Brand Tweaking

30/10/2011

An update on my Murchie’s re-brand project, see my earlier post.  After testing the logo with potential consumers and a formal class presentation it became apparent that some tweaking was necessary.  After many, many minor tweaks I’ve arrived at this point.  This most recent design for the Murchie’s logo is more consistent and slightly less representative of an actual tea pot.  The teapot now appears to be formed completely from the swirls of steam.  The inspiration for this logo comes from the warm, calming and inviting feelings surrounding the enjoyment of high-quality tea.

I’ve also been exploring the possibility of a kinetic logo with a textured fill.  An interesting application of this could be a cut out window on packaging revealing the texture of tea leaves behind the logo.
